Virginia passes its Democratic-heavy redistricting map. MAGA feels doomed
Virginia voted today to approve a new electoral map that heavily favors Democrats in response to Trump’s push to redistrict in red states to gain an advantage in the midterms.
Texas was successful in their redistricting, but other red states were not. At the same time, blue states have responded with their own maps and had greater success. One MAGA commenter noted, “Republicans started this in Texas, looks like they bit off more than they can chew.” Trump and Republicans continue to seem surprised that Democrats have engaged in this redistricting fight.
As voters went to the polls today in Virginia, MAGA was watching closely. Early results came in from the low-population red counties and the “No” votes, opposing the redistricting, were in the lead. However, those totals had very few votes from the densely populated, Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC which lean Democratic. Once those totals came in, the count shifted and, ultimately, the redistricting vote won.
During the day, on the forums, many MAGAs seemed excited that Virginia was rejecting the redistricting push. Then the votes from Fairfax County came in. In the hours since the vote was called, the forums have slipped into a dark place. There are calls for rebellion and secession, accusations of vast conspiracies, a rejection of Trump and a call to cancel elections. Here are some select comments, including one very long rant to kick us off:
Don’t let your righteous anger turn into limp-wristed depression. Use it to make them regret this. Take your pick of action items or suggest your own.
Pay attention to the Indiana primaries. All establishment GOP that stopped redistricting there need to go.
Start reaching out to people in Florida. Now is the time for that state to join the fight and the GOP will need some encouragement as always.
For those in purple or red states, use this to galvanize the currently demoralized right-wing. The message is simple: The left has dehumanized you so much and radicalized their followers so severely that they’ll steal representation from entire regions, leaving them voteless and at the mercy of corrupt city political machines.
Editorials, online posts, memes, explainer videos. The meme war rages on.
As for Virginians, take a peek at the work Oregonians have been doing with the Greater Idaho project. Start planting the seeds for secession and community independence from the leftist strongholds.
Make the Democrats answer for this at every town hall, every community event, every meet-and-greet. The same way they do it to our candidates. Especially in rural counties, smother pockets of treachery that sold out their own towns for brownie points with the DNC.
Make them regret this. We need to fight for this country more than they hate it.
Secession is on the table if things don’t improve. Within five years the country will be facing a historic decision,live free or die.
Just had a thought, if they’re the traitors why are we calling our actions secession? That word has bad connotation.
Reunionizing we’ll call it. The occupied and disenfranchised regions of Virginia will reunionize with West Virginia.
We faced that question in 2024. We used the defibrillator. We got a pulse, but it’s weak. The GOP is a nasty tumor, and the only solution to nasty tumors is to rip it out with wide margins. It will otherwise continue to drain our life force
Sure we might be able to excise the tumor(s), but we’d still have to survive the metaphorical “chemotherapy” and “radiation”.
And either way, we’ll still be weakened on the other side.

I don’t give a shit anymore man. I’m over all of it. The people in charge will rig the voting machines to say whatever they want, and nobody will ever go to jail for it. Let this country burn. Let the government fail. Let wall street and the banks die. And let the alphabet soup agencies be destroyed and their members beheaded on TV. I’m over it all. If anyone thought they weren’t gonna cheat again after NOTHING IS HAPPENING TO THEM IN THIS ADMINISTRATION I got a bridge to sell you. It is statistically impossible for so many races and important elections being this close and democrats always edging the win. Its completely laughable at this point. Red counties continue to report early and blue counties report late after manufacturing votes. The CIA and deepstate are literally running VA now.

I don’t take these comments about secession seriously. The response here really feels more evidence that the MAGA base is slowly crumbling.
