A thing that unites Trump and Harris supporters tonight is that we are all trying not to vomit from anxiety.
There is not a lot to report from the far-right forums today. They are, at best, unsure about who will win, and quite a few of them seem resigned to a Harris win (and saying she stole it).
The worst behavior we’ve seen today have been bomb threats called in to polling places in majority Black counties in Georgia, but those seem to have come largely from Russia. Given how much training the Trump camp was doing for poll “watchers”, it’s been a calm day.
That said, the rhetoric online is still infused with violence. Examples from today:
Whether there is any violence this week depends on if Trump loses and what he tells his followers to do. He has been laying the groundwork all week for disputing the results in Philadelphia, including this post today:
If he encourages his followers to go there and protest, they will undoubtedly show up.
We won’t get much insight about what will happen until we have some swing states called at least, and probably not until we have a winner declared.
As of now, there continues to be no organized plans for protest or demonstration.
