MAGAReport 3/31/24
Today: Welcome + MAGA criticisms of LGBTQ+ community, conspiracy theories, threats against various groups, plans for political and potentially violent actions, and concerns over election integrity
Welcome to MAGAReport
I spend part of each day monitoring pro-Trump forums. People frequently ask me what’s going on today or if there are any plans. Given the concerns surrounding the upcoming election, I’ve started this newsletter to share daily updates from the forums. This will be mostly automated - I gather posts, process them, and then have ChatGPT generate a summary. When I spot anything especially interesting, I will add in my own commentary.
Subscribe for free to get these reports to your inbox. All the daily reports will be free. If I am ever motivated, I may chime in with a more detailed subscriber post, but really, subscriptions are just if you want to help pay my OpenAI fees (which are small). So enjoy the free subscription guilt-free.
Comments and suggestions are always welcome to jengolbeck@gmail.com or to me on Twitter @jengolbeck .
MAGAReport for 3/31/2024
1. The main topics being discussed include criticism of LGBTQ+ individuals and events, political commentary, conspiracy theories, religious beliefs and values, and concerns about voter fraud and election tampering. From Jen: This is pretty typical and expect this to be a common general description of what’s going on.
2. There are multiple instances of threats against individuals and groups, including LGBTQ+ individuals, political figures such as Joe Biden and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, marginalized communities, and concerns about the integrity of the election process. These threats range from verbal attacks and derogatory language to calls for violence and retaliation. From Jen: There are no explicit plans for organized violence that I have seen, just some general big talk and Trump-style threats.
3. Some members of the community are making plans for political action, such as promoting certain politicians and policies, while others are advocating for violent action against those they disagree with. There are also discussions about protecting religious institutions and beliefs, as well as promoting certain ideologies and values. There are also mentions of potential mass protests and calls for action against illegal activities and voter fraud, as well as potential legal action and investigations into alleged voter fraud. However, there are no explicit plans for violent action mentioned in these documents. From Jen: a lot of the religious themes today are surrounding Easter and it coinciding with this year’s Trans Day of Visibility.
