MAGAReport for 6/17/2024
Today: the usual pro-Trump anti-government discussion with no organized plans for violence or demonstration
A daily summary of what’s happening in far-right online discussions
The far-right pro-Trump forums continue on the same path, responsive to the daily rage bait of far-right media and focused on the standard conspiracies and areas of MAGA concern. Today, that is:
discussion about the 2020 election being stolen
Talk about COVID lockdowns and anti-vax conspiracy theories
Hunter Biden and their belief that he has lots of evidence about how President Biden has committed crimes
General conspiracy theories about corruption within the government and on the left, along with accusations against their perceived enemies of pedophilia, communism, and deep state plots.
One of the most interesting things today was a very popular thread that captures the MAGA online attitude perfectly. It begins with this screenshot of a tweet with a title that says, basically, mocking the left is the best way to defeat them.
There then follows nearly 100 comments about how much they like to make liberals cry, fantasies about how their questions and comebacks might completely stymie a progressive, and deep agreement that mockery is an effective political tool. This echoes other discussions I’ve seen where these guys refer to themselves as a Meme Army and believe pro-Trump memes will dramatically impact public opinion.
Beyond this, there are no organized plans for action, demonstration, or violence on any of the platforms.
