Proud Boys Update: MAGAReport 7/30/26
Earlier this month, I published a story in Esquire about the weekend I spent with the Cape Fear Proud Boys (I know you are reading, guys - hello!)
This week, I did interviews about it with Here and Now on NPR and, last night, on PBS News Hour.
If you’re interested, you should be able to hear/see both pieces at those links above.
The only political issue the Proud Boys and I agree on wholeheartedly is that we are strongly opposed to Flock cameras (and similar brands) that surveil us all as we go about our daily lives and put our movements into a national database that can be searched by police and government agencies anywhere in the country without a warrant. It’s disturbingly unconstitutional, a uniting issue if ever there were one, and you can learn more about it, along with looking at a map of cameras near you, at DeFlock.org.
