"Why is the left trying to inflame a civil war?" MAGAReport 6/11/25

A mix of bad legal takes and violent fantasies reign as protests continue

Protests against Trump’s immigration policies continue in Los Angeles and more formed in other cities around the country last night. Over on the MAGA forums, where they get very upset when people criticize Trump, a thread appeared called “Why is the left trying to inflame a civil war?” Civil war talk is all over their discussion boards, but it was nice of someone to organize that discourse all into one place for us to examine.

Despite the title of the thread, the discussion is a rather terrifying conglomeration of ways that the MAGAs would like Trump to start a civil war and how they think it would go. I don’t see any of the MAGA followers planning to act on this right now. They are just excited for the possibility of their enemies being punished.

Here are some excerpts from the forums that reflect the larger discussion. I’ve broken these into two main categories: plans for administratively starting the civil war and fantasies of violence.

Administrative Action

These extreme Trump supporters are not legal scholars, but they often pick up on legal concepts that they spin out without being tied to how the law actually works. That often means that they advocate for plainly illegal things and, if Trump were to do those things, they would cheer it on. If they understood that those actions were illegal, they may cheer it more because of the trolling value it would have against the left. Here are a few discussions of those ideas. These are all quotes with indentations to indicate the threading order. I’ve bolded some of the notable bits.

• Trump needs to fully activate the military to restore order within the country and also forcefully remove the illegals. We need to start arresting every sitting representative, senator, governor, and mayor who interfere with the operation. The radical left have declared an insurrection, we need marshal law NOW.

• The best thing Trump can do is ratchet up the law enforcement. Like dead ass while they’re rioting have the national guard grab them one by one and process them through ice.

  Declare a national emergency or insurrection and the second you catch an illegal on the street eject them from the country.

  If they’re not going to let you use the alien enemies act, then you need to create the conditions for such.

  Crank that knob to 11 and snap it off.

    Anyone who survives the bullet will be unlucky because they will be slowly tortured to death over decades in Gitmo

• At what point do we just declare the Democrat party a foreign terrorist organization? They openly advocate and facilitate the destruction of the country..

  • Don’t even need to do that. Arrest Soros and everything else just falls into place. [Note from Jen: They are obsessed with George Soros. This arises from a long-running anti-Semitic conspiracy theory about him that positions him as the head of a globalist shadow government.]

    • Past just arresting Soros, he needs to be erased from this world [Note from Jen: this just means “killed” but a lot of the people use language required on other moderated platforms to avoid being banned. They could totally say “killed” here without any problem, but it is interesting to see how the moderation language sticks]. Along with his followers, whom he has paid money too. Wont happen though, he is Satan's henchman to help usher in Anti-Christ

Shout out to the two voices of reason in response to that comment about declaring Democrats terrorists:

• That is what communist totalitarian regimes do. They destroy the country they control to gain further control. And when there is nothing left to control, they take life itself from people.

• That’s what they’re doing to conservative parties in Germany. I don’t want that here. Because they’ll do it to us when they get power.

Fantasies of Violence

There is violent talk infused everywhere in these discussions, including in some of the comments above. Some of those fantasies of violence pop up as mostly stand-alone comments.

Some of these read like threats, though I don’t see anything right now that indicates they plan to show up and act on them.

“There will be blood. Stay diligent this weekend. They need bodies for the cameras. They've poured too much money and effort into this not to have sacrifices and the media attention they crave.”

“Buy guns and ammo and excessive [sic] your 2nd amendment right appropriately”

“I’ve sat around campfires with my hunter friends that were frustrated to near tears that a civil war wouldn’t start until they were too old to have their fun. These progressives don’t know what they’re asking for.”

“Perhaps we should finally give them what they want. If a real civil war popped off, it’d be horrible for our country and Americans would die…..but the Left wouldn’t stand a chance. This wouldn’t resemble the first American Civil War, there’d be smaller tactical teams everywhere consisting of veterans, police, hunters, and guns enthusiasts. As long as we had competent leadership to coordinate all these teams and display discipline (not running 100mph into battle and showing restraint), we’d wipe out the Left pretty easily.”

“well, when they are shot by other citizens they will have died for nothing.”
